So many people from all over the world contacted Jade as they wanted to achieve the look. So, we got the lowdown from the main lady in question.

RSVP caught up with the Wexford MUA who gave us her 8 top tips and tricks to looking sexy over sixty…

1. When it comes to skin care & prep, an effective routine can help prevent acne, treat wrinkles/fine lines and help keep your skin looking its best. I would definitely recommend a morning & evening routine including an eye & neck cream suitable for your skin type. When applying makeup you enhance what’s already there which is why it’s so important to nourish the skin. Including a serum with Hyaluronic acid before applying your moisturiser is a must for me as it seals in the moisture.

2. I have two favourite primers – Charlotte Tilbury Flawless poreless primer as it has SPF 50 and gives a filter like glow to the face minimising the appearance of pores and fine lines. It is suitable for all skin types and ideal as part of an anti-ageing makeup routine. Another favourite is Bperfect cosmetics primer as it contains a silicone base that smoothes the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, creating the perfect base for a long lasting makeup look. I have favourited while applying makeup in my studio to clients that YSL touché eclat foundation or Lancôme foundation stick are both very complimentary to mature skin types.

3. If you have sensitivity to products and/or rosacea – ensuring you use hypoallergenic products is a must. Test skincare / makeup products before applying to your face. Use a mild cleanser and moisturise daily. La Roche-Posay Rosaliac AR Intense Visible Redness Reducing Serum is good for rosacea. Also using a silicone primer like Bperfect cosmetics before makeup application will help to deliver a good cover.

4. The best splurge for sensitive eyes is La Roche Posay Toleriane Volume Mascara Black and best save would be Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara both hypoallergenic ideal for sensitive eyes.

5. I can recommend iGlow Eyebrow Serum. They also have a serum for lashes too which is brilliant! You can fill any sparse areas with eyebrow pencil, gel or powder so not to worry if experiencing thinning as it can be covered with product. A home remedy often used is applying castor oil daily.

6. An easy regimen to keep skin smoother is to exfoliate twice a week for about 30 seconds and then rinse off with lukewarm not hot water. Also steam your face once a week using a few drops of Geranium Essential Oil – I absolutely love it!’ It’s strengths in balancing hormones, anti aging skin care and helps to tighten pores. No matter what your skin type is, oily, dry or combination, It balances the pH of your skin, meaning it adds moisture where you are too dry and it regulates oil production.

7.The best skincare tip I ever received was to wear SPF!

8. When it comes to Autumn trends this season – after a year inside, It’s time to start wearing makeup again. Whatever that means to you be it a pop of colour to the lips or eyes, breathable glam skin and glossy lips.
