People and companies from all over the world are filing for U.S. patents using “deep learning, “deep neural,” or “multi-layer neural” in the Claims. To keep it simple, I call all of those variations just “deep learning.” In 2020, there were 726 “deep learning” patents. In 2019, the total was 396. In 2018, the total was 162. This year, as of September 21st, the number of new “deep learning” patents is 809. And there’s one more Tuesday in September, plus October, November & December, to go!
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted Brightflag, the AI-powered legal operations management software company, a patent for its innovative application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in legal technology.
